Where are Guppies originally from?
Fancy guppies were discovered in 1866 by a man named Robert John Lechmere Guppy. He was exploring Trinidad, an island in the Caribbean, when he stumbled upon them. Robert John Lechmere Guppy, being a very modest man, named them after himself. In 1967, a man named Dr. Ab discovered that depending on the amount of food, water temperature, and water quality, the guppies could change their coloration, shape, and fin size. And so the different strains of fancy guppies were born.
